Oscars 2024 wrapped up a whirlwind awards season with a star-studded night at the Dolby Theater! Jimmy Kimmel returned as host, keeping the energy high throughout a ceremony filled with surprising wins and unforgettable moments.
However, the biggest champion of the night was Christopher Nolan’s epic biopic “Oppenheimer,” which dominated the awards with a staggering seven wins, including Best Picture, Best Director (Nolan’s first!), and Best Actor for Cillian Murphy’s powerful performance.
Meanwhile, Emma Stone solidified her place in Hollywood royalty with her second Best Actress win for her role in the quirky dark comedy “Poor Things,” while the Best Supporting Actress Oscar went to Da’Vine Joy Randolph for her impressive performance in The Holdovers, just like we had predicted.
There were plenty of other highlights! Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell continued their winning streak with their second Best Original Song award for “What Was I Made For?” from the live-action movie “Barbie.” Ryan Gosling stole the show with a dazzling performance of “I’m Just Ken,” complete with a bedazzled pink suit and a legion of backup Kens.
John Cena broke the internet with the way he presented the Oscar for Best Costume and history was made with the win for “20 Days in Mariupol,” a harrowing documentary chronicling the war in Ukraine, which took home the Best Documentary Feature award.
