Expressing his gratitude to PEOPLE at the ceremony, Kravitz remarked, “It’s an incredible honor to be on this street. To be with all of these great people that have done incredible things with their lives is an honor.” Reflecting on his journey, Kravitz revealed how surreal it felt to receive this recognition, especially considering his humble beginnings.

But the real highlight came from Denzel Washington, Kravitz’s longtime friend.

According to an Entertainment Weekly report, the Malcolm X star affectionately remarked, “He’s more than a friend, more than a brother. We’re twins, we just don’t look alike. We’ve had a close brothership friendship for… 30 years.”  

Further adding to the light-hearted mood, Washington recounted an amusing anecdote of a particularly firm handshake from Kravitz that once left him with a sore hand. As the ceremony drew to a close, Washington concluded his speech with a heartfelt declaration of love and admiration for Kravitz, affirming, “I love Lenny Kravitz like I’ve loved no other brother in my life. Less is more, Leonard Albert Kravitz.”
